Talk with your real estate agent about areas that might be developed soon, and what those projects could mean for your views or everyday life. 

2. Floor Space

While you can add additions to a home, this project comes at a great cost, which is why many families think carefully about the size of the home they are considering. Look for a house with enough space to grow into, and think about the size and number of bedrooms to accommodate everyone in your family. 

If you like a property that needs an addition to be livable, don't put in an offer until you talk with a construction team about the projected costs of tackling something like that. They can give you an estimate for the project, which could help you make a more researched decision. 

3. Yard Size 

Carefully inspect the size and shape of the yard, and think about the neighbor's property. Pay attention to how much space is between the houses, so you don't have to worry about looking out and seeing neighbors glancing into your space. Additionally, pay attention to the landscaping between your house and the neighbor's, since all it takes is a few trees to drastically improve privacy.
